The True Story of HeoJun who Dissected His Teacher, Ryu UiTae
In an icy cave filled with cold air even in the middle of summer, HeoJun is kneeling in front of the body of his teacher, Ryu UiTae. Next to HeoJun is the will of his late teacher. “I entrust my lifelong desire to you and I give you my body though it is ill-ridden. Bear in mind that you must open up my body before it rots away.”
To show and teach HeoJun the human body and medical techniques, Ryu UiTae, who had stomach cancer, told HeoJun to dissect his body after his death.
Ryu UiTae ends his life after he leaves his last letter entreating and hoping that the pain of all people with illnesses may be lessened. After reading his letter, HeoJun makes good on this promise to his teacher.
“Punish me if I ever fear becoming a doctor or covet money using medicine and the needle.”
