The Story of the Symbol of Lucky, 'White Deer‘<In front of Deer Farm>

  • The expedition of Qin Shi Hwang searching for the elixir plants might have met the white deer of Donguibogam-chon at the foot of Mt. Jirisan at that time. As white deer(Baekrok), known to accompany the Taoist hermits, is a symbol of good luck, if the expedition had seen them, then they might have hope to find the elixir plants.
  • Like this, another advantage of trip in Donguibogam-chon is that one can have fun to meet white deer which is known to follow the Taoist hermits.

Donguibogam Heojun Sullye-gil <At the Entrance of Heojun Sullye-gil in the Venue>

Donguibogam Heojun Sullye-gil, linked to the Mt. Jirisan Dulle-gil, refers to meditative road through the forest in Donguibogam-chon. Walking along the trail, one can come across 'Donguibonga Healing Town', the core facility of Korean medical tourism combining healing and wellness experience programs together. Also, it is a demonstrative place for Korean medical experience where it is possible for one to take a rest in the nature and recover, while walking along the colonies of Siberian chrysanthemum, mountain herb eco trail, and barefoot trail.

The Road with Waterway Acupressure Trail

  • One can experience healing, walking along the Acupressure Trail and Heojun Sullye-gil with water originating from the west of Mt. Wangsan and Mt. Pilbongsan, the foot of Baekdudaegan, and flowing to the east, which is the symbol of health and longevity.
  • Especially, strange rocks and bizarre stones, blue water, and dense forest add magnificent look to Donguibogam-chon. The water flows through Dongui Waterfall and into Tiger Waterfall Square in which 33 different types of precious water used in herbal decoction was described as colonnades.

A Tale on Dissection Cave <Dissection Cave on Heojun Sullye Road>

  • Heojun visited Eoreum(icy) Valley of Cheonhwangsan in Milyang with the Great Master Samjeok upon the summon from his teacher Ryu Uitae who suffer from stomach cancer. There was Ryu Uitae, lying on his back on a stone in a icy cold cave even in the summer heat, with a will and various surgical equipments beside him. Crying over his teacher's death and touched by his spirit of self-sacrifice, Heojun decided to follow his will- that Heojun should learn the shape and function of internal organs of human beings and find different reasons why we get sick through his body in order to as many lives as possible.
  • "Gods of Heaven and Earth, please listen to my oath. As you see, I, Heojun, would never forget what I pledged here. If I should neglect my lessons to be a good doctor, or pursue money and fame, then you could punish me," said Heojun, and he straightened his clothes and picked up the mess.

A Special Village, Teuk-ri <Pavilion before the Oriental Ki Experience Center>

As shown from its name, Teuk-ri village, in which Donguibogam-chon is located, is a special village, whose name originated from a lying cow. Mr. Keumjae Kanghan is said to come here to avoid eyes of the world after retiring from his office, playing geomungo in nature for the rest of his life. At the back of the village, there is Mt. Wangsan and Mt. Pilbongsan, the patron saints, of Donguibogam chon, and in the foreground Teuk-ri field and Kyeongho River, well known for its clearness, which makes it a traditionally propitious spot.
